I had a wasp fly all the way up my trouser’s leg… I prayed to take away the sting but leave the swelling…

Canines have red-green color blindness. Typically they see yellows & blues.

Not all dogs (or cats) are color blind. One neighbor’s dog can see color, the other’s cannot.

I had a golden that was bitten by some type of insect/spider. Her face became so swollen she looked like a shar-pei. LOL A trip to the vet and some benadryl did the trick.

Google “dogs eating bees”. The visuals are both sad and hilarious.

Our friends German shepherd was once stung by a wasp or bee when she snapped at it. Ever since she curled up her lips and fiercely bit off the passing insects head and body. The stinging butt fell down to the ground. Never got stung in her kisser again.

my understanding: dogs can differentiate some colors; forgotten which ones. not a great many.

That is a Bee, not a wasp. Bees are yellow, wasps are black and much meaner.
