Back when I was a teacher, I was excited when school started. And, for the first few years after retirement, I had was jealous of those that were still working. I got over it.
I was always more anxious than excited at the start of a new school year. Until the last couple of years when I downright dreaded it… and decided students deserved someone who wasn’t dreading it.

Yeah, I feel the same. That’s the part of working at a school, I miss the most now that I’m not working anymore.

I recall being excited when I started high school. The girls suddenly seemed to blossom!
