When Dad took us to see a rerelease of LCH in a theater, he was the only one not laughing at Toots pulling on the thief’s pants leg. He had seen it in the first run and knew what came next.

I LOVE a good “Lucy” reference.

Ruthie, that lady wasn’t actually the hatchet lady. Lucy and Ethel just thought it was because of the description in the news. Then they said the hatchet lady was travelling with a dishwater blonde and a frowsy redhead and the driver thought the cops would come after her because Ethel was blonde and Lucy was a redhead so she abandoned them.

In 50 years they’ll be writing comics like this about Spiderman helping Ironman fight Captain America.

Hey, that’s our dog in those three panels at the top.

The ending of this movie always makes me cry. As soon as Lassie starts limping up the street, I start to weep. And I always walk out of the room when Toots gets killed.

Farmers breed and sell animals. Those calves and chickens aren’t going to grad school.

Someone needs to teach Ruthie that not everyone has relatives with money.

I think in the original story, Lassie was a border collie.
