I did Braille transcription for a couple of years. Everything is written backwards, but the holes (bumps) are read left to right. I very seldom had to read what I transcribed, so when I encounter Braille, I automatically start at the far right instead of the left.
A couple of years ago Braille plates were added to bus stops here for people who need to text the next bus app. The first time I noticed one I tried to read it with my fingers. Pure curiosity!

even with my eyes open and touching it – still couldn’t read it. I was always thankful for the close captions.

Yes, Ruthie, you could do that — but if you don’t know Braille, you won’t know what it says.

I still wonder why they have Braille on the buttons on the drive up ATMs?

I need to know how the blind know where the dots are, or that they even exist.

If I close my eyes forever
Would it all remain unchanged?
