Oh, and you’re several years behind on HOA dues!

If you think the grass needs cut Gladys, then you do it!

Dang it. Come on i’ll show you how to start the mower.

I didn’t vote for incorporation or board members.

The homeowners association has been taken over by a special interest group.

I’m guessing, like my wife, Gladys isn’t comfortable around power tools, so mowing the lawn has always been my purview. A few years ago my gas mower died and I replaced it with an electric mower, and she surprised me by offering to help mow the lawn. Turns out it was the noise that bothered her. Since then, in order to elicit more help ;-), I’ve replaced my leaf blower and string trimmer with electric models.

FYI While the electrics don’t have the run time of gas, I’m getting old and it just gives me an excuse to take a needed break while the battery recharges (takes about 30 min on a quick charger). And as a bonus they’re quieter and I don’t have to wear ear protection, thus letting me listen to music or nature while working.

Yard work has pretty much always been my job, on top of house work and cooking. Now that I think about it, in 48 years he has hardly done anything other than the job with a paycheck and he is retired now and still does nothing.

Brutus, tell her you used to get you hair cut, see what happened. She doesn’t want the grass to die off too, does she? It’s your day off to recuperate from a rough and stressful workweek.

My dad’s next door neighbor only cuts his grass when the city forces him to.

but your his wife… you don’t need to be the home owners association to boss him around.

It’s raining now and is supposed to rain off and on all day today and tomorrow, so I won’t mow this weekend. Come Tuesday, it will likely be a different story…

Well, that is a horse of a different color.

If a certain cult I know wants to rail about freedom… they ought to do it toward HOAs.

Gladys I can’t cut the grass. The bees are putting up the last of their winter “nectar” for honey. I am helping mother nature and God’s creatures.

And she can do a whole lot more than send a nasty letter or fine you. Get off the couch and gas up the mower already….

I cut our grass because I like the artistic expression of geometric lines. My wife does all the gardens and does it beautifully. We each stay in our lanes and it’s worked very well for 42 years!

My HOA complains to the city. The city warns you to cut the grass in three days or they’ll have someone come out and cut it. Then they charge you $300.00 for less than a quarter acre lot.

But we are renters.

Poor Brutus Thornapple, on the ladder of life, he isn’t the lowest rung, he is just the foot that the ladder rests on.

Brutus ask Gladys if you tell her when the house needs cleaning.
