The bad news? Republicans won’t let you back into the country. (just in case you might want to vote them out of office for making an American citizen go elsewhere for an abortion).
Heading downtown last evening for some supper and to hang wire coat hangers on the republican headquarters door handles. The “good” christians were in front of the local Planned ParentHood, protesting abortions. The local PPH does not perform abortions, they provide birth control, education and other needs. That PPH will prevent more abortions, than all of the “good” christians praying will prevent.
I should have stopped and gave the protesters some of my wire coat hangers. Time to make another donation to pph.
Any time Ted tries to wrangle abortion into his desire to spark a grand revolution, I cringe. Women face prison time for getting an abortion in Iran. Abortion providers face the death penalty. Because the regime is worried about declining birth rates, a law was recently passed to make contraception only available to women whose health issues would make a pregnancy dangerous.
Not only that, but no one in, for instance, North Korea, complains about election results! There’s usually only one candidate, which saves an unimaginable amount of time-wasting political bickering and endless campaigning and fundraising. There are no predatory corporations amassing wealth at the expense of the citizenry. The literacy rate is 99%, and private ownership of guns is illegal. Their officially reported incarceration rate is a tiny fraction of that of the USA. If you look at videos of people lining the street of their parades, you see unrelenting hysterical joy. It must be paradise!

No Ted, sorry, you cannot. 95% of all abortions done in Iran are done illegally due to restrictions in the law.
Not only are abortions severely restricted so are most forms of surgical contraception.

Apropos an earlier comment by Ted about going to jail for justice:
“Have you been to jail for justice? I want to shake your hand
Sitting in and lying down are ways to take a stand
Have you sung a song for freedom, or marched a picket line?
Have you been to jail for justice? Oh, you’re a friend of mine
Was it Cesar Chavez? Maybe it was Dorothy Day
Some will say Dr. King or Gandhi set them on their way
No matter who your mentors are it’s pretty plain to see
That if you’ve been to jail for justice, you’re in good company."
