Yes, glad you missed the plastic bag. No telling what kind of damage it could have done to the car.

Color me relieved.

I once ran over a plastic bag it got hooked on my catalytic converter and caught on fire luckily I was pulling into my driveway and was able to get to a hose and put it out.

Next time, try to hit it.

A plastic bag wound around the driveshaft can cause expensive repairs. I still don’t swerve to miss them though, that is even more dangerous.

There could have been a kitten in the bag…

Hitting a shredded truck tire will do much more damage than a plastic bag. I once stopped for a stranded motorist who had done so. The tire tread went up into the engine compartment and took out the wiring harness. She asked me if I could fix it (no) so I gave her a ride to a gas station in her destination city, and she called family. She’s lucky she didn’t have an accident as she immediately lost engine power and her power assisted systems (power steering, power brakes).

Survey: Have any of you folks found yourselves upside-down in an overturned vehicle? Just curious, because I have nightmares about this…the worst ones involve water.
