When team sports matches are being viewed, a strange quirk switches on in many people’s minds, causing them to imagine that they are seeing something fascinating, even though this is almost never the case. That a similar response might be triggered by a lesser cue, such as having habitually experienced such fascination in the past at a given time or place, doesn’t seem that far-fetched.

DNA is a powerful force. So is a nachos and beer(s) habit.
