Hard to believe but the teams led by TB12, Rodgers, Stafford and Russell Wilson are a collective 13-21 with Brady’s Bucs having the best record of the 4 underachievers at 4-5. One can’t blame the qb for 100% of the disappointment but all 4 teams definitely in a sharp decline with the Rams, Packers and Bucs suddenly looking ancient and the Broncos simply are not very good at this time.
It is not just aging QBs who should be calling out their O-lines. Many young QBs’ careers are being shortened by the lack of protection from their linemen. Cincinnati, San Diego, Pittsburgh, and Chicago immediately come to mind.
Once Upon a Time the “Four Horsemen” (Miller, Crowley, Layden, and Stuhldreher) got somewhat full of themselves. Rockne had the “Seven Mules” just do nothing, one play.
Lesson learned.

QBs need status to chew out their O-liners without fear of recrimination. I used to deliver papers to an NFL O-liner whose wife told me about a hotshot rookie who’d replaced a limited (but loved by teammates) QB as starter.
The rookie had a big arm but a bigger mouth and would routinely yell at his linemen if they missed a block. After a while they collectively decided to “open the gates” on the kid and he had to be carried off the field. Never did reach his potential.
Moral of the story: If you tick off the people who are supposed to protect you, don’t expect that protection to last.

Here in Chicago, due to our low expectations, we have become immune to these problems.

It won’t be long before Brady and/or Rodgers get an injury that prevents them from playing again.
