Does anyone find it odd that the well was at the TOP of a hill?

Here again an assumption, there was never a well mentioned in the lyrics (there are plenty of springs on sides of hills). Just like humpty dumpty, there is nothing that said he was an egg.

So… I guess they never did get indoor plumbing.

Jack and Jill went up the hill they each had a buck and a quarter. Jill came down with two and a half, Still think they went up for water…

Better tumbling and breaking a crown than falling in the well…

They fit right in with our society. Don’t ever let go of the past; no matter that it keeps you from moving forward in life.
