I love it when we have a God-man ‘toon. It’s been too long…..May 2, actually (“God-man, help!” “OK, if you’ll kill your son.”)

Of course, I still wonder how Scalia and Soto-mayor are doing - I’m a sucker for love.

Just proves that all men think they’re god.

A Catholic friend of mine once explained that (as he was taught in Catholic school) that you’re encouraged to pray to saints (rather than directly to God the Father and/or Jesus) because the Big Guys were simply TOO BUSY to be bothered with piddling issues like losing your car keys; it would be presumptuous, and not going through “proper channels”. God delegates to his underlings.

Didn’t Jesus say, in connection with instating the Lord’s Prayer (the only prayer you’ll ever need!), that you shouldn’t pray FOR anything? God knows what you want and what you need before you ask for it, and thinking that St. Swithin might “intercede” is both useless and smacking of polytheism…
