Fun day today. Online conference (would still like to be in Scottsdale AZ right now) and my wife’s surgery. Both went very well. In fact I missed only 15 minutes of one session since I took my wife to the hospital before the conference started (the advantage of time zones) and they called to pick her up with only 15 minutes left in the session I was watching. Getting her home with stops on the way took one session that I did not want to see anyway. All good.
For those who asked why they did not remove the stone and the gall bladder in one operation – it is two totally different procedures. Removing the stone is done through the mouth and esophagus and does not involve making any incisions. We had to travel to a different town because our local hospital does not have the necessary equipment for this process. Removing the gall bladder does involve some very tiny incisions and that could be done locally.
She is in a little pain – expected but otherwise in good spirits. She is looking forward to eating real food in the next couple of days. Sure hope she starts to gain some weight soon.

Okay, children, you both need to separate. Go to your rooms and reflect on what you could have said and done differently.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!

Even in the closest family’s disagreements aren’t inevitable, but arguments are.

Those second-order disagreements are rough. (Let’s go for third-order!)

My late mother was what I call a “contrarian”. Even if you agreed with her, you were agreeing for the wrong reason .

I’m really not triggered by most things but these interactions make me want to toss my phone.

Sound like sisters and not mother and daughter.

“OK—I’m putting both of you three-year-olds in time-out!”
Reminds me of a good response to a similar item, too …
“S/he started it!” … “Well, I’m ending it!”
HI, MOM. Happy Friday, “Cathy” Clan.

“I’m sorry, this is abuse. For an argument you want room 12.”
