We’ve watched all the versions, including the Muppet one. This past Friday my wife and I read the book together—it takes a little less than four hours—with our daughter. We’ve been doing it each year since she was a toddler. She’s now in her 30s and we do it via FaceTime since she lives on the West Coast and we’re on the East Coast. It’s a wonderful family tradition. It wouldn’t be Christmas without it. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all.
“He became as good a friend, as good a master, and as good a man as the good old city knew, or any other good old city, town, or borough in the good old world . . . and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that truly be said of us, and all of us!” A Christmas Carol in Prose. Being a Ghost Story of Christmas by Charles Dickens – 1843.
