Being involved in the arts myself (my hobby is stage and special effect lighting) I fully understand the lack of any major support for the arts – especially in small communities. Hockey takes up most of the available funding in my home town. Companies will sponsor a hocky, or softball team in the summer, and now even soccer teams, but not support to the same level live productions for plays or music. Just glad I am a volunteer as I would starve on any wages the drama groups could provide from their earnings.
