Turkish delights are halal if one uses a recipe that substitutes cornstarch for gelatin.

Not a huge fan of Rice Krispies treats, but if that’s what she wants to bring, cool with me. I’m on the lookout for the deviled eggs.

Exotic delicacies are in the eye of the beholder. It seems someone wasn’t sufficiently specific.

I mean, I’ll have one if she won’t.

Note: Marshmallows are not kosher or halal unless certified as such. (Many Muslims in the West will accept foods certified as kosher unless they have alcohol in them.) They also are not vegetarian/vegan unless, again, they have that certification.

Presumably Huda Fahmy makes her treats with halal marshmallows :)

What exactly is an Arab delicacy, anyway? Or Arab food for that matter? Doesn’t it vary by region and culture? Not to mention that the “Arab world” is made up of Muslims, Jews, and Christians alike.

I’d enjoy Huda’s Rice Krispy treats but then I enjoy even the most overcooked falafel.
