Since we never wanted to wear hats at all, neither did our snowpeople.* They were, usually, clothed in pebbles and sticks, though, because we just didn’t get enough snow to make a CLEAN snow person.

To answer the question that didn’t get asked: The trail of a giant slug would be gooey and mostly in a straight line. The trail of Frosty would be bootprints, or, in pure snowman formation, would have a slight back-and-forth pattern (see Sam the Snowman as an example).
