This is why using manual clips would be better.

At least he didn’t cut the power cord. (Guilty, now I have two short extension cords thanks to getting the necessary male and female connectors from the hardware.)

It’s a bush. Unless you put stump killer on it or dig up the roots, it WILL come back (even if you don’t want it to).
