Nice try Luann, I actually thought the percentage in 1995 might have been higher than 60%. On the other hand Frank might still be playing 8 tracks which he bought in the ’70s so be glad he did not give you one of those instead of the cassette player and turntable you probably have.

I tried something similar with my dad over a pocketknife. I wanted a Schrade-Walden Stockman knife and tried importuning my dad to buy it for me. His response was the classic, “If you want it, get a job and earn the money to buy it.” I did just that, working after school sweeping the floor and stacking boxes at Huffines’ Hardware. At 35 cents an hour it took a while to earn the money to buy it.

I bought a CD player and my wife wondered why we needed it. The next time we went record shopping all of the vinyl was gone.

Sometimes, you forget how old this comic is.

I got CD play for Christmas when they were becoming popular and it still in it’s package to this day. I didn’t have a lot of CDs then and by the time I had a decent collection, MP3 players were rage.

Wow, this REALLY dates this strip! Nowdays, kids would say, “What’s a CD?”
