I remember a spelling test once when I was in jr. high school. I don’t remember the word, but let’s say it was response. After the teacher read the word, one of the students asked: “How do you spell that?” The teacher responded: “R-E-… No! You’re not tricking me that easy.” (Somebody should have corrected her and said “easily”.)

You should have quit while you were ahead! 8^ )

Let’s just call it “Fogarty’s magic” and leave it at that. :D

Have them copy the correct spelling of the word 20 times on their paper. That should affix the right spelling of that word into their memory.
