I injured my foot while working. Worker’s comp sent me to an orthopedist who said I needed to wear a special boot. No problem, I said, I already have one. (kept from an unrelated prior surgery to my other foot. The base of the boot fits either foot. I went online and found a new liner for it for about $20.) A while later when I reviewed the bill they sent to my adjuster I discovered the orthopedist had billed a hundreds of dollars for the special boot they didn’t sell me. What the orthopedist didn’t realize was I worked for the same insurance company they were billing. They didn’t get paid for the boot. Instead, they got suspended from our list of providers.

Mighty stiff price for a neck brace. Even if it’s four foot long.

Welcome to insurance price hackery. I had to pay $500+ for some x-rays. They change their coverage plan from 2022. What a racket.

I guess the price is right if you have an extra-long neck.

It’s the insurance company that’s the real pain in the neck.

After he was injured, the giraffe was worried he wouldn’t be able to find a doctor in his neck of the woods.

I’m really wondering how they get the glasses to their mouths, when they have 2 foot “arms,” and an 8 foot neck.
