You’re a brave man Ralph. I wouldn’t be caught dead in a store with my full grown son riding in the shopping cart.

My Christmas trees are tiny, artificial desktop trees.

Hours of daylight are starting to extend into the evening. People are inexplicably expressing delight that hours of daylight are starting to extend into the evening. And infernal Daylight Saving Time will soon prematurely jolt hours of daylight even further and faster into the evening. Which is why, even this early in the year, I start to yearn for the return of the holiday season, when the sun will again set at a decent time.

Here we take our trees to the beach where they are used to help build dunes at the state park.

We put up our living room tree, our studio tree, and our dining tree late this year and my teddy bear village and their tree did not get set up for Christmas until after New Year’s this year.

While the other three are down the teddy bear village is still setup for Christmas (will switch it to March setup this week). We left the other 3 up late since we did not put them up until late – husband’s new for his birthday small “big screen” threw off the decorating as what we had figured out before buying it did not work as well as we though it would. So, while all of the downstairs trees have been away for a couple of weeks there are still items waiting for their trip to the basement and when I have to go down for something else – like to switch the laundry loads – another box or something goes down. Still have one big box, a light up bear, and two plush decorations which still have to go down for storage. Also have 3 “gift boxes” which have to go upstairs with their contents for storage. (Since we have at most one gift – for husband, none for me – under the tree we pack some of the decorations and Christmas bear figurines in Christmas gift looking boxes (one his sister gave us – it is velvet, the others are fancy cardboard photo storage boxes from craft store) and then put the empty boxes under the tree for Christmas so the tree does not look “naked” with only one gift under it – set dressing.
