Standard time isn’t natural, either. It was developed by the Union Pacific Railroad in order to standardize train schedules. Every town had their own time based on where the sun was in the sky. Made scheduling trains somewhat difficult. Interesting story, too long to tell here.
What I think is funny is that they are in Arizona (see the Saguaros?) and Arizona’s time doesn’t change. We don’t change time, we change time ZONES. We were in Mountain time, now we’re in Pacific time.

Maybe Time zones should go North South. Dst year round would be fine down here. In Vermont it would be hellish in winter.
