I went to Target earlier this afternoon (it’s still the 14th as I type) and the almost all Valentine Day stuff was gone- candy and other sweets, flowers, and Valentine novelties were gone. There were a few panicked men looking over a slim selection of Valentine cards.
We used to own a very small shop and, come Easter, we were left with some chocolate eggs and rabbits. One year we had the idea of freezing them until the next Easter. Unfortunately, when you freeze chocolate, it turns white. No Sale! (but it still tasted good)
About 20 y/ago I would hit the Russel Stover’s outlet store in Denver. Lots of inexpensive chocolate goodies, usually marked down 75-80%. Fortunately for my waistline they have closed that shop. :-(
here in japan yesterday, the valentine’s day sweets that women customarily give to men here in topsy turvy land had already been replaced with “white day” candy for men to give to women in return on march 14…

Forget those post-holiday bargains, Sergio.

No sales here, Easter candy has dominated the shelfs the last couple weeks.

We had a huge display at the front of the grocery store where I work, it was gone when I walked in last night
Everything that was left was already on the mark down shelves
Last year there was at least 4 times as much stuff
Might be some disappointed bargain shoppers today

Time for Easter candy and Robins eggs, the best treat ever.

That’s exactly what my wife and I bought tonight — half-price candy!
