Hey, if I get shortbread out of this, you can bring in wild woodchucks any day. Besides, no one important got hurt, so it’s all good.

I understand that releasing squirrels indoors can lead to religious experiences.

Poor Spud, those anti- rabies shots had to sting.

He couldn’t chuck wood, so he chucked Spud. If only the woodchuck could chuck wood …

And it’s not even Groundhog Day!

Of course Spud.

Looks like Spud took some collateral damage.

Now we know how much wood a woodchuck would chuck if a woodchuck did chuck wood.

So the woodchuck mistook Spuds head for something wooden? An easy mistake.

When I was a kid I found a squirrel on the side of a road. It had been hit by a car. I picked it up thinking it was dead. It wasn’t.

Was Spud just unwrapping that triple-decker peanut butter sandwich at the moment of release?

I’ll just note that Wallace says that MOM feels bad about what happened yesterday, heh.

And while Mom would like Wallace to apologize for causing trouble… he really doesn’t …. :D

Why do I get the feeling Spud did not get an apology baked good? Does he avoid gluten?

Are those scratches on Mrs M.‘s forehead?! And how did poor ol’ Spud get the bad end of the stick? I figured he would stay well away from wild animals!!

Time warp? Did I fall asleep? What wood chuck???

I take it that Seagull does not approve of shortbread. :P

A woodchuck? I thought it would be Sterling.

Wallace’s expression in Panel 2 is so good. Panel 3 as well.

But at least we finally learned the answer to the age-old question: “How much Spud could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck Spud?”
