I remember the cast I had when I broke the two lower bones in my leg had a large rubber on it to protect the cast. The walking with the cast on was only after about 8 weeks of healing.
Wonder if modern casts are water resistant. I said it before in this arc, I was lucky to have casts on my arm (not at the same time.). So I could stick the arm in the cast out of the tub and bathe with less concern about getting the cast wet. But that was some 30+ years ago.
