I remember my HS chem teacher, Mr Walsh, returning test papers on March 17. He graded them in green ink and put an O’ before everybody’s name.

What’s the name of the Irishman who stays out all night, every night? Paddy O’Furniture.

I have a lot more, but they’re either not nice or way too long.

One of my grad school profs (in the US) named James Reilly went to Ireland to find his roots. He came back with a new name, Seamus O’Reilly, AND an Irish brogue. While he was certainly affected, he was a good teacher.

While their names are similar and both are marsupials, possums and opossums are different creatures. Opossum typically refers to the Virginia opossum and its cousins in the genus Didelphis, all of which live in North and South America. While possums are a suborder of 70 tree-living marsupial species native to Australia and the Indonesian islands of New Guinea and Sulawesi.
