I volunteer at my local library in the used book store. We can’t give away the raft of self-help books that get donated. I guess once you get self-help, you don’t need to maintain it…?

We’ve had book fairs as fundraisers at church. Mostly used paperbacks for $.25-$1.00. Never a big success. Afterwards, we fill the dumpster.

So I asked the Reference Librarian if she would tell me where the self help books are. She replied, now if I did that,wouldn’t that defeat the purpose?

I am reminded of George Carlin routine on self-help. “If you have to look it up in an book, its not self-help. Its just help”

I guess they weren’t very helpful.
