That’s why I read books. Although I do recall a paperback from the 70’s that featured a cigarette ad. As a kid, I couldn’t resist giving it a try. It was crap.
After dinner we sit in the kitchen and watch TV. Husband picks the shows and watches them. There are maybe 2, 3 at the most shows I actually like and pay attention to (and one has a plot line since the end of last year that I don’t particularly like). I go on my laptop and read the newspaper and then, depending on the night, go online. Monday is my comics night (though tonight is Sunday and sometimes I have finish my online sites for Sunday early and move ahead to comics).
This is my only non-working/non going someplace he decides we need to go/non sleeping time to do anything – after dinner.

For several reasons, I have been without a television set since last October. I have not missed it for one single second!
I can find enough stimulation and/or novocaine for the mind on my laptop, tablet, or by just watching the world from my roof terrace.
My wife watches the news and her telenovelas on the set in the bedroom while I’m content to read my electronic books in the living room.

US tv is no longer a vast wasteland. It’s become a vast sewer.

My Mom always used to say she could feel her brain cells dying when watching TV in the 80’s.

“This restaurant is terrible! The food is overcooked and underseasoned, it’s almost inedible. And such small portions!
