Stretch jeans, a sure sign that this plugger has given up; but they were the only pair in my size at Costco; and my wife likes them, so I bought a 2nd pair.
Trying to find pants that fit me in most stores today is futile. They have all sorts of fit ranges but no Geezer Fit lines. L. L. Bean does offer some pants with discreetly expandable waistbands with about 10 cm of give.

They start out as Regular or Relaxed Fit and shrink to skinny jeans from the inside out.
