That gator really likes bathtub stoppers.

Piam Layne So what’s the phobia name for the fear of dirty spoons?

May the Lord be with you as He is with me.

Research Scientists get inspiration for Scientific names from early childhood watching Saturday morning cartoons. If from my era it would have been named “Have Gun Will Travel”.

Why would haved mentioned a dirty spoon phobia? Who talked about it? Liam Paynes dislike of dirty spoons, I dislike dirty forks but I wouldn’t call it a “phobia”

The Sonic Hedgehog gene actually is named after the video game character, sort of. It’s a variant of a gene just called hedgehog, because when manipulated in fruit flies it caused them to develop unusual spikes on their bodies. Other variants are named after real species of hedgehogs, and mutations of the gene have been named after the echidna, and Mrs. Tiggly-Winkle.

I once saw a cellular biologist try to look up PCR primers for this gene, and stare at the search engine results in confusion when a bunch of pictures of a blue cartoon character popped up.

I solve the dirty spoon and fork problem by using plastic ones most of the time.

At least the alligator didn’t climb up into the tub or a toilet.

After global warming and dramatic sea level rise, alligators will have Disney World in Florida all to themselves.

Concerning gene naming, that’s what we get when gamers ‘grow up’ to be scientists.

Sounds like that gator had plans.

Take care, may Liam find another direction, and may his doppelganger Geoff “It’s More About The Artistic Quality Of The Stains And Leftovers On The Spoon At My House” Steradord be with you, and gesundheit.

Once upon a time, cheap restaurants or coffee shops were sometimes called “greasy spoons”.

Inside our cells are complex molecular machines, including proteins with “legs” that “walk”. Here is a video that gives a quick view of some of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_tYrnv_o6A

Apparently Liam is only afraid of spoons that are not his that he thinks may not have been properly cleaned. He has no problem with his own spoons that he knows are well cleaned.

But my question is, why only spoons? There is no mention in the below article about being afraid of forks or knives that he has no control over. It would seem to me that they are just as suspect of being unclean as the spoons are.

Why would a gator swallow a bathtub plug? looks like a pasifier plug to me. That would attract a gator if it was in a babies mouth.
