Overtime means one of two things. Not enough people to do the job or you are doing it wrong.

I worked at a 24/7 Datacenter. My Monday morning was 6 PM on Friday! Got shift differential and OT for just working the weekends. Made good $$$

I have been told that I don’t have a life because I have no small children, so I need to come in and work.

Mandatory, schmandatory. You already got the time you paid for this week.
