How many Frenchmen do you need to defend Paris against invasion? Nobody knows.

People make fun of the French but (and I never thought I’d say this) Bucky’s right. We French, historically, had to surrender only because it was for the greater good, not because we didn’t want to fight. If you look back at our history, we are a nation of warriors and if you provoke us, we WILL get in your face about it. It’s also true despite our strength, we don’t compare to nations like America or the UK. But we also know that fighting to the last man is pointless since we still wish to preserve our people. Don’t underestimate us, Rob.

All the hullabaloo going on now in France is due to them raising the retirement age from 62 to 64. Current retirement age in U.S. is 67. People are living 10-20 years longer now than when retirement ages were 1st set.

Typical American ignorance. Hey, how many wars has the US won since WWII? Here’s a hint, it rhymes with “one”… but isn’t.

The French anthem is fairly bloodthirsty; lyrics like the enemy’s impure blood will water our fields…

Have not seen it mentioned yet but the French surrender in Vietnam and our insane determination to replace them led to the Vietnam War disaster.

I was in Paris on 9-11 … the Parisians were very consoling … this American will never forget their shared shock and anger …!

France’s anthem has its good points. The Beatles even used it as the intro to “All You Need Is Love”.

Up until the early-1800s, France kicked everyone’s butt all up and down every single battlefield and never thought twice about it.

At any rate, if it weren’t for the French helping the US, we’d all be speaking English by now

As a 2nd generation Italian-American & a cat lover, it is clear that poor Bucky is the way he is from having to deal with Satchel. The Italian National Anthem IS better than the French one by a mile. (This is not an attack on the French Anthem, just that the Italian is better.) & living with a vegetarian doesn’t help. This also explains why he is a Yankees fan instead of supporting the best NY team, the Mets.

The French Foreign Legion was a thing once, and France’s illegal occupation of Mexico.
