Looks like to me that the guy standing there is passing up a good opportunity to make a quick buck by taking the talking dog on the road. People would pay good money to actually hear a talking dog speaking in sentences.

What they leave, you can’t spend.

In his defence, his sniffing was intended to be a friendly introduction.

I’d take a cuddle from a dog as a tip any day.
