I’m just speechless by the awesomeness of this strip.

Maybe, over time, Dill will slip Petey’s missing homework thru the mail slot.

Ahhh, Adventures in Reading. That was the name of one of my textbooks, too.

I didn’t know he was capable of such athleticism.

The dreaded triangle coloring. Pages and pages!

Skip the coloring, Alice. I’ll bet you could make some square shapes fit into those triangles!

This should be for the end of school and the start of summer vacation!

I hope he has a s-Petey recovery.

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s SuperPetey! Defender of quietude and ruler of the Toad Zombies!…. Faster than a speeding snail, quieter than the most awkward of moments, able to stare at spots on the ceiling for hours on end!

Honestly though, this is absolutely wonderful, though I didn’t know Petey was capable of such feats of athleticism. Speaks to the power of proper motivation, no doubt.

And yet, all this amazing-ness is ignored and we get the usual chilly attitude of an Alice out of the warmth of the spotlight. Alice, triangles pale in comparison to the pink stars Petey is currently seeing.

If Petey regains consciousness, will he be bitten by remorse and confess to Madeline that he was supposed to have homework?

And would chilly, mean Alice just mind her own business? She’s practically kicking Petey while he’s down! She must understand WHAM, right?
