Sometimes college is not worth the money. Trade and tech school grads are needed.

There are a lot of issues with higher education. There’s the focus on sports over education; at many state universities the football coach is the highest paid state employee and there are too many athletic scholarships and not enough scholastic ones. A lot of people would like to start at a community college first, save money and have an opportunity to explore various topics before making a commitment to a specific field of study. But many universities won’t allow all credits to be transferred and they make students repeat courses.

For seniors, there are many hardship provisions to ease the burden. My wife contracted a terrible disease and was forgiven almost $80,000 in student loans for graduate studies. Look into the other methods, first.

Now they can sit on the park bench with an air of authority.

I’m still bemused that my life has been made richer because I can brag about my BS — and have the certificate to prove it! You’d think that somewhere along the line somebody would’ve said “Wait a minute, you’re good at BS?”
