When I was in high school one of my friends had a part time job at the local bank he ran the coin sorter. This was around 1961 so I’m sure the city just took the coin pile to the bank.
I agree with Dan. Never understood why anyone wanted to do Facebook. A friend said it was a way to keep in touch with family and share pictures. Not liking to deal with my family at that time I said it was stupid. She still talks to me, but not on Facebook.

They use machines to count the pennies now. I saw one in a local market a few years ago when pennies were made obsolete
