Hmmmmm. Well I saw that coming. I’m scared that I actually understood her just now. I don’t agree with her, of course. I’m not at Cathy’s level of nut job just yet.
She probably feels guilty about wasting her money on them and wants to hang on to the thought of “I can still make it work”. I used to be like that. Now my clothes work for me, not vice, versa. :)
I’ve never bought ugly shoes that didn’t go with anything I wore! That’s a ridiculous waste of money! They may have been uncomfortable but they were always cute and perfectly matched most everything I wore!!!!! :-) Much like Cathy, though, I was also an unfortunate slave to ridiculous high heel shoes . . . that is, until they gave me a wicked case of just about every “itis” you can think of: tendonitis . . . bursitis . . . plantar fasciitis . . . The pain became so unbearable that I finally had to break down and go to a Podiatrist for help. I got cortisone shots in both my heels (ouch!) and I had to buy two pairs of hideously expensive orthotics – one for my dress shoes and one for my tennis shoes. Now that I’m a stay-at-home mom, I no longer have to wear my high heels on a daily basis but I’ve still got them for those once-a-year dates I have with my husband where we go to dinner and then see a play at the local theater.
