24 years later, term paper writers are being put out of business by AI.

Now it’s not “paper buying” – it’s use of ChatGPT.

Earlier this year ChatGPT took and passed the July 2022 Uniform Bar Exam with a score of 297. That score placed the computer program in the top 10 percent of all those who took the exam last July. On the Multistate Bar Exam, ChatGPT scored 76% while actual humans taking the same test averaged 68% correct. The July 2022 Bar Exam tested on seven subjects, and ChatGPT scored 88% on contracts, 85% on evidence, and 81% on criminal law and procedure.

I have to wonder – is the human race becoming too damned smart for its own good?

As a college freshmen English teacher myself, this all really hits home.

From the look of the computer in the last panel, this arc is pretty old.

I wonder if Trump’s team got their “law” degrees from ChatGPT!!

Stuff’s really changed since ’99! Now, just use AI to explain everything (show your work).

Students should just turn in the paper they wrote in 8th grade since they are guaranteed an A.

Well, this the natural end result of turning higher education into “a path to a better-paying job” instead of, y’know, a way to better yourself and get smarter.
