Earlier this year ChatGPT took and passed the July 2022 Uniform Bar Exam with a score of 297. That score placed the computer program in the top 10 percent of all those who took the exam last July. On the Multistate Bar Exam, ChatGPT scored 76% while actual humans taking the same test averaged 68% correct. The July 2022 Bar Exam tested on seven subjects, and ChatGPT scored 88% on contracts, 85% on evidence, and 81% on criminal law and procedure.
I have to wonder – is the human race becoming too damned smart for its own good?
Well, this the natural end result of turning higher education into “a path to a better-paying job” instead of, y’know, a way to better yourself and get smarter.
