Women’s shoes are one of the biggest rackets in recorded history. Not to mention that most designs constitute torture devices.

And I’ve long wondered, Would any woman in her right mindwear 99.9999%, ad infinitum, of the alleged clothes one sees at fashion shows???!!!

I knew where this was headed as soon as she said shoes. $260 is probably what I’ve spent on shoes in my lifetime. I still wear my favorite Nikes (white leather, red swoosh) from college. Otherwise, 1 pair of boots, 2 pairs ‘dress shoes’, 2 pairs sneakers. I saw that Cathy—stop rolling your eyes at me (though fair is fair). :-D

This site is slow as molasses this morning.

Morning lightenup I was on at the same time as you but not getting anywhere. Morning/afternoon Susan. Hi Mom! when you come to say hey later.

Morning / afternoon / evening to the quiet readers. Nice to see new names again today, too.

$260.00 . . . I hope that wasn’t for just one pair of shoes! Otherwise, she’s nuttier than I thought and someone needs to call for the men in white surgical scrubs with butterfly nets and a straightjacket to come pick her up and take her away (Ha! Ha!).

About 12 years ago, I developed plantar fasciitis in both feet so bad that I needed cortisone shots in both heels, $500.00 specially made orthotic inserts (both covered by insurance) and tennis shoes better-made than my good old canvas Keds to help me live a life in a lot less pain. I almost had a stroke as I wrote that $100.00 check for them (which was not covered by insurance)! I buy my shoes at places like Wal-Mart . . . not expensive department stores (which is probably how I developed p.f. to begin with!). But I will say that those tennis shoes were a good buy though. I’ve had them for going on 13 years now and they’re still in pretty good shape!

Good evening, AaronClaus, Billy Kringle, lightenup, Susan, K.F.G., nannygram, Mai Tai, and all the other Cathy fanatic readers joining us here today / tonight. As always, good to “see” each and every one of you!

b.t.w.: My favorite nut (next to the Cathy ones, that is!) is the cashew . . . the salted ones especially!

I’m so guilty of this!! I’m a bit of a (for lack of better words) “shoe whore” myself.

To AaronClaus and lightenup, no payment needed, my friendship is free!!!

    Hi GretchensMom!!!

Cathy sure keeps proving that she’s a basket case, doesn’t she? A lovable one, but still ….Thanks for the info on the next Viper car, lightenup. I’d known about it, but not all these details. I owe you one..Hello to all the other Cathy nuts roaming around here, too.

I’m seeing 4 boxes (3 opened, 1 closed) around her. $65 apiece sounds too cheap, even for Cathy. Then again, I’m with Aaron on boots, dress shoes, and sneakers. He has one pair that looks like they belong to a teenaged buy (some of you moms know about your son’s size 14’s). He has them so that his MAFOs fit inside. When he doesn’t have to wear them, especially around the house, he’s usually barefoot, so why spend $$$ on shoes/sneakers.

A bit later than usual again. We had to visit the ER tonight because Aaron’s eye was leaking a small quantity unpleasant stuff. His after-surgery black eye now is purple around the fringes. His green eyes are still gems. Some of his crew worried that he’d come home with a whole new eye. Nope. The ‘bionic’ part is all the stuff along the optic nerve and beyond.

Anyway, evening friends ‘old’ and new. He lauged at Maia’s reply. And thank you lindz.coop he had a much better night last night. See you tomorrow :-D

Or maybe the two boxes in the sales guy’s hands. $130 then. Still no bargain for sure.

    Hi to all the Cathyites!!

If she could just sit for a minute, take off her shoes and do what??? Try on some uncomfy new shoes? Yikes!!! (or AACK).

Thanx Billy, glad Aaron is sleeping again. Hope the eye stops leaking.

Best nuts — anything covered with chocolate (especially Brazil or cashews).
