On Irving’s crazy long crazy list, I have the flat screen. Wow. I got nothing. I’m a loser.
Morning fellow Cathyites. Can we be losers together? :-D

And the Porsche SUV which we all seemed to have talked him out of yesterday.
Poor sad Billy I think he needs a “there there” (see today’s Broom Hilda)

Susan you cracked me up — and Billy has a smile a mile wide. You’re a good friend :-D
I think Willi Nilli is away during the week and home on the weekend, though probably busy. I miss her too.
We’re in the 60’s overnight and low 80’s during the day. My hip is healing so much better in the more moderate temp of NH. DC has a ‘feels like’ temp of 98 already this morning (and it’s only 9:30).

Hi Senex. Winchester area. We’re on a nice hilly apple orchard. We’re going to go spend the day sitting beside the Connecticut River. We had planned a few days in late summer at the seacost, until I got injured. Maybe in the spring instead. :-)

Well, if you all are not getting enough heat, you can come to Oklahoma where it’s been over 100 degrees for a month now and expected to reach 104 today. I bet Irving couldn’t even recite his list in this heat! ;-)

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE: It’s sweltering hot here in Kentucky and need some rain badly….thinking of doing some kind of rain dance for relief. Irving is on a rant again, I think he’ll never be happy even if he gets everything on his list…too bad huh!! He will learn someday about what is important….love of family and friends and peace of mind!!

Wow. Well, I’ve got 5 out of crazy Irving’s “I’ve got it all!” list of 16 items anyhow. I guess that makes me only slightly above that of a loser but that’s okay. I’ve still got a pretty nice life without all those other fancy, expensive things I’m supposedly “missing” and I’m doing just fine without them (although the 2 million 401K would definitely be nice!). Besides, “having it all” doesn’t exactly guarantee a happy life. Look at Tom Cruise, for instance. I don’t know what his golf handicap is (or if he even plays golf for that matter), but even if he did have every single item (and then some!) on Irving’s list . . . he just turned 50 years old and is now going through his third divorce. What do money and things matter when you’ve got no one special in your life to share them with??? (Sorry! I’m not trying to offend any single people here with that last sentence. That’s just my own personal opinion based on the 24 wonderful years I’ve had with my husband and how utterly lost I’d be without him!!!!!)
Aaron: Thanks for the great tips yesterday! I’ve written them down and hopefully all future cake endeavors won’t turn out like the one I made a couple of days ago. It wasn’t that it was bad tasting or anything like that (except for the sour blueberries, that is), it’s just that it didn’t look much like the pretty picture and, being a coffee cake, it wasn’t exactly to my liking (and since I don’t drink coffee, I had to wash it down with a glass of water). But I may give it another try sometime (using both your moms’ tips, of course!) and maybe I’ll have better results next time. Meanwhile, I didn’t post my original comment a second time after your first response to me to make it look like you were psychic (or psychotic, whichever you prefer!) or anything. At the time I posted, my comment was the 4th one listed (or at least I thought it was the 4th one listed!). How it eventually ended up 5th — after your response to me, no less! — I have absolutely NO idea. Maybe you truly ARE psychic and, knowing what I was going to say before I could say it, you were able to respond to me FIRST!!!!! I don’t know. It’s all beyond me how all this cyberspace stuff works. There’s a reason I’ve dubbed myself the Queen of “Computer-Stupid Land” . . . because everything I know about computers would fit in a thimble — and even then, all my so-called “knowledge” wouldn’t fill the thimble up either! It’s a wonder I can even turn the darn thing on and find my way here everyday without getting lost and needing my husband’s help first!!!!!
;-)

“All” being a relative term, of course …
This strip is just unreal at inspiring the eye-rolls. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Have a great weekend, “Cathy” nuts.

Irving has me worried – I have 8 of the items on that list. Well, my abs are sculpted – just not in the shape considered ‘healthy’. I did not count piece of mind as I have a habit of giving that away too often. Reading about the high temperatures some of you are experiencing makes our high of 32C seem quite comfortable – even though it is unusual for us to get so many days that hot in a row. Actually Aaron, Billy and KFG are experiencing the same range of temps in a day as we are. Just glad my office is in the basement – nice and cool here. Have a good weekend fellow Cathyites.
