The SUV – a monument to American excess, but what really cracks me up is the proliferation of Escalades, Explorers, Hummers, et al ad nauseum that are “improved” with the addition of 22-inch rims and rubber-band tires. And let’s not forget the zillion-watt bass amplification equipment that occupies the, uh, cargo area.

I’m just hanging around for the inevitable “Not interested” and the sales guy’s head imploding. Come on Cathy, I know you got it in you.

Morning Susan yet to arrive. Morning lightenup maybe close by. Hello fellow Cathyites.

    hi mom!

The only time I’ve understood huge SUVs are for families with many kids. I have friends who have 4-5 kids and they need every inch of their SUV.Good morning, simpsonfan, Aaron and Susan! You’re right, I was nearby (15 min plus typing time). If I didn’t have to run upstairs and change my clothes before the yard guy knocked on my door, I would have been closer. I’m running so behind today because I woke up at 4am this morning and tossed and turned until close to 6am. I hate this… Need to get some things done so I’m not feeling so stressed. :-(Hello to GsMom, Billy, KFG, rgcviper, lindz.coop, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMona, Bronzepony, simpsonfan2, Hobbes and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!

Hiking boots is the word here – all you need to be one with nature. So back to shoe shopping Cathy!

SUV? Hiking boots? Being one with nature?!?!?! Is this Cathy — OUR CATHY — he’s talking about?!?!?! It CAN’T be because the Cathy WE all know (and love!) can barely force herself to put the potato chip bag down and get off the couch long enough to take poor Electra for a walk so she can do her business!!! Forget an SUV . . . Cathy should be looking at things she can just “tool around town in” instead — like a Ford Focus or VW Beetle.

AARON: I had dinner with a friend last night at Texas Roadhouse. Guess what I had for dessert??? Well, actually, I could only eat about half of it — the other half I brought home for the husband (it’s only fair since he rarely ever attends our “Girl’s Night Out” monthly dinners!). Have you ever had this? If you haven’t, then you MUST!!! It’s absolutely to-die-for!!!!!

    Their Big Ol’ Brownie!!!!!

Ow—I think my eyes hit my brain on tonight’s eye-roll.

But, G-mom, that brownie looks like just the cure I need. Yum.

    Happy Friday, all.

Hi Cathyites!! Boy that’s a tough act to follow GMom. I saw a license on a “Smart Car” yesterday that was something like smrtrnu and cracked up. Those are even too small for me, but I don’t think I’m ever gonna drive an SUV . My rule is that it has to be cheap and easy on gas. I do recognize — just like you lightenup — that folks with a house full of kids need bigger cars, but do we really all need trucks? “Back in the day” stationwagons were sufficient. Run Cathy, Run!!!
