That basement must be the size of a football stadium. Good morning, Susan, Aaron, Shyygirl and legaleagle!Hello to the rest of the clan… GsMom, KFG, Billy, rgcviper the black cat, linds.pook, hendelca, Mona, serenasakitty, kittycatpawsare, gmforde, soonergal, lippyfish, Mai Tai, Willi Nilli, mollie, AnonaMouse, Bronzepony, simpsonfan2, tegm, scaredycatsarge, BJIllistrated, ncalifgirl58, Molly mcgee, Teresa, mar mar in MI and all the other Cathy nuts rolling around here today!I’m having a Cathy day today and actually going shopping! I’m going on a trip to Paris next week for our anniversary and my husband said to go shopping (mostly because I wear t-shirts and jeans and we’re going to some nice restaurants, and also because he is a nice and generous guy). I figure this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip (although I went to Paris for 2 days during my post-college backpacking trip through Europe, but that was much different) so I might as well buy a couple of nice outfits. Anyway a friend is coming shopping with me today so I don’t make any crazy Cathy decisions and hopefully it will be fun!

I’m jealous, frightenup! My anniversary is in a few weeks and I"m not getting anywhere near Paris. It’s his turn to choose, and we’re going to a Pampa restaurant (all you can eat meat). Yay. LOL

Sometimes you do hit upon the perfect purse, and you hate to see it wear out. But then you THROW IT OUT, Cathy.Good morning frightenup, ncalifgirl, and Wolf Emperor. Frightenup, what a wonderful anniversary celebration! Question for Billy : I saw that you are reading Dean Koontz. I’m a big reader and I do love thrillers, but I’ve never read anything by him. What is your all-time favorite? Tell LMB that my granddog Doodle is coming to visit me this weekend!Happy Friday, Cathy Clan!

This should freak Cathy out: Cathy, in the basement? With icky creepy crawlies and mice? Is that any way to treat an old friend?

Cathy is now running down the street, clutching her beloved purse. :-D

Morning Susan lazy bones :-D Sleeping in is a treat, huh? Bon jour frightenup. Hello fellow Cathyite friends and family.

    hi mom! :-D

LOL Aaron. Who knew he could be so cruel.

scaredycatsarge10 Dean Koontz “Odd Thomas” series is my favorite. All of his early books were Stephen King-like (creepy but great reads). There are currently four Odd Thomas books, 3 ebooks, and a fourth due out soon (or maybe released … I don’t own it yet). “Brother Odd” is my favorite favorite of the series. For other authors Daniel Silva, Steve Berry, Vince Flynn, and Brad Thor are favorites as well.

I switch purses regularly like some people switch drink choices.

The ancient bag I loved and wanted to replace with a clone was one of the first “organiser bags” – a pocket for everything! In those days I wore contact lenses, so when I went out I had to take all the essential tools of the contacts wearer, plus my glasses just in case of disaster. Those pockets were a blessing when you had to stick your hand in and make a quick grab because something had got underneath.

But now I’ve resigned myself to glasses, so I don’t need all those pockets, all that space. But on the whole, when I do need to take something with me, I think I’d still prefer to carry it in a handbag rather than stuff it into the tiny pockets that my clothes seem to have.

This one started out strangely sentimentally for a “Cathy” comic. But then it was right back to normal.

@frightenupHappy Anniversary, and have a great trip.

@AaronWanted to tell you that your comment on “Garfield” today made me laugh. Well done.

    Happy Friday, Cathy Clan.
