Growing up I was called Joey however, with my parents accent it came out “Yoey.” Wifey and I had just had that conversation a few days before I had planned to do yardwork most of the day. When lunchtime rolled around she stuck her head out the patio door and wailed long and loud, YO-E-E-E-E!!! Tru story!
I was playing hide-and-seek with my brother who always cheated and got away with it so in an effort to win I yelled from my hiding spot “Thomas and Tammy get in here!” Impersonating our mom.. which he fell for. I won but then we really did have to go in.

My wife usually calls me by our last name. If my first name precedes it, I know I’m in trouble or something serious is up.

Left the toilet seat up or tracked grass into the house when getting his drink.

If I’m involved in some chore or another and my wife calls my name, it’s usually because she needs help with something, or its a phone call.

Especially true if you hear your entire first name.
… and if you hear your entire first name and your middle name, leave the neighborhood for an hour or so.
(Hear the whole shebang — first, middle, and last? Leave the state. You can buy more clothes later.)

I always knew I was in trouble when my mom used my first, middle and last name.

She didn’t hear the mower running. Kind of like when the kids are ‘too quiet’.

It was extremely rare that I was in trouble growing up (I was a goody good).
If husband is outside I don’t need to yell to him – he will have me out there with him “just in case”.
