As a coach of multiple sports at multiple levels, I always felt this was the approach of the vast majority of parents. 80% just want a babysitter and half or the attending parents saw their success and failure in their kids and I would have preferred they did not show.Yeah, I am not a big proponent of parents rights.
There are still a few parks around which are free for roaming around. You just pay for a wristband if you want to go on rides. Wish more parks were like that. I’m old. I don’t do rides anymore.

I don’t like roller coasters but the kids did. I wish they had such a policy or discounted tickets.

One of our local amusement parks used to do that…the “sitter” got a different color wristband, although I think it was good for the merry-go-round
