Someone’s mom would blow a whistle and we all went to our homes then.

If we were in our yard (or the street abutting our yard) we could stay out after dark- if it was the weekend or school vacation). I remember watching the bats swoop in the area of the streetlight.

Since I no longer have to come in, I use the street lights to tell if I should turn my headlights on.

Our city charges extra for street lights. If it’s on your property, it’s on you. Lots of little concrete stumps in the neighborhood where there use to be a street light.

Your sad little childhoods will give you great stories. Like the time you lost your helmet and had to walk you bike all the way home. Or the time you stood less than ten feet from a lady finger firecracker.
