Maybe they read the book and then donated it. I am assuming Betty is going to read it for free? She seems upset that the book ended up in a freebie book library for others to read. She is a true friend.
Actually that’s not much, that would get you approx. one dollar in silver coins from 1963. A hard cover book back then was more then a dollar to buy. Inflation has just ruined the value of a dollar.
If it was a gift it could explain how quickly the book went from just going on the market to being put in the free library. If it was well written the reader would take their time making notes and possibly underlining and writing in the margins. Alex admitted her books aren’t well researched.
Please stop calling it a giveaway library. The very fact that it is a library means that you take a book, read it, and when you are finished, you returned it so someone else can read it. People don’t put these little libraries up so that people can just get free books. It’s a Library in every sense of the word except you don’t need a card to use it.
