Believe it or not, Christopher Columbus was never in North America.
Our junior hockey team in our town is called the Vikings. But they aren’t that old!
That fact about the Vikings is a no-brainer I learned it in grade school.

And it’s believed that an Irish saint known as Brendan the Navigator sailed to North America and back sometime in the 6th century.

I recall a PBS documentary back in 2016 that showed a viking burial mound in Newfoundland, that was estimate to be from aound 800-1300 AD

The Vikings sailed to America because there were no Starbucks in Norway at the time.
Anyone who graduated from high school knows that the Vikings were here before Columbus.
