There was no such time. Things recognisable as social media predate the eradication of smallpox, and frankly immunology as a concept.

Social media: everyone agrees it’s poison, but they won’t stop taking it.

X-Factor.

The elimination of Smallpox was the eighth wonder of the world, and is largely ignored. I remember arguing with one of my kids teachers, who in the 90’s had never heard of it and did not believe it had been done.

I like to point out that I was fortunate enough to come up during the Golden Age Of Sexuality – after the Pill and before AIDS.

Not sure the timeline should extend that far beyond “Creation of Social media.”
