I always heard it as “old wives tale”. Perhaps it is being suppressed because someone thinks it is suggesting that the wives are old rather than the actual meaning of the tale being old and told by wives.

But “rude” implies intent (example: Bucky is rude). A dog’s bowels are indeed offensive, but it’s not intentional, so they’re not “rude”.

I have never heard a wife of any age say that.

I read that as “Don’t be such a Dog’s Bowl!” then I re-read it. I actually like my version best- may even start using that one.

Rob is going to come in and see the mirror in Satch’s hand, and Buck will bear false witness.

I’m sure other species have committed relationships with the opposite gender.
