Although today’s theme seems to be “You just can’t win!”, there is of course a silver lining to every dark cloud. There doesn’t seem to be a Poison Mildred around today to irritate Nancy. (Please allow me to give her an unofficial nickname of my own choosing.)
Hot tap water, like hot enough that you’d reflexively pull away, but not so hot to actually burn you. If you run that over an itch, it stops the itching for a while. It gets the blood moving like scratching would, without damaging the skin.
Don’t do this on fresh poison ivy exposure though. You have to wash with cold water and soap first, cold water keeps the pores from opening up.

Let this be a lesson to all. Avoid nature. Stay inside all day and play video games with the curtains closed in the dark.
